URWERK

URWERK was founded in 1997 by partners Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei. The company is one of the most important both in terms of design, and technical innovation, in modern watchmaking. Taking the traditional wandering hours complication as a starting point, URWERK makes watches that in materials, kinetics, and visual impact, redefine and dramatically expand the experience of time provided by watchmaking.

Following on from the tragedy that hit Beirut on 4th August, the Time Stopped charity initiative was born. Omar Trabloulsi teamed up with Julien Bonzom to help out. Time Stopped is a series of 11 digital artworks, including the UR-100 from URWERK drawn by Julien Bonzom. As a token of appreciation to every person’s generosity they received a digital file of 11 artworks.

URWERK a été fondé en 1997 par les associés Felix Baumgartner et Martin Frei. L’entreprise est l’une des plus importantes, tant en termes de design que d’innovation technique dans l’horlogerie moderne. Prenant comme point de départ la complication traditionnelle des heures errantes, URWERK fabrique des montres qui, en termes de matériaux, de cinétique et d’impact visuel, redéfinissent et élargissent considérablement l’expérience du temps offerte par l’horlogerie.

Après la tragédie qui a frappé Beyrouth le 4 août, l’initiative caritative Time Stopped est née. Omar Trabloulsi s’est associé à Julien Bonzom pour mener à bien ce projet. Time Stopped est une série de 11 œuvres numériques, dont l’UR-100 d’URWERK dessinée par Julien Bonzom. En guise de remerciement à la générosité de chacun, les donateurs ont reçu un fichier numérique de 11 œuvres.
