Julien Bonzom
Born in the South of France in 1991, Julien Bonzom studied the history of art and the traditional furniture making at the Institute Europeen de Formation des Compagnons du Tour de France (IEF CTF) – a unique school led by the best French craftsmen. Before his 16th birthday he participated in several prestigious competitions and won the Meilleur Apprenti de France (MAF; Best Apprentice in France). This gave Julien the opportunity to work with some of the best leading brands since a young age. He perfected his knowledge in manufacturing and discovered his passion for design. He established his own studio in 2014.
Julien is active in the fields of design, horology, museum-quality furniture, and is a creator of unique and limited-edition design art pieces. His designs challenge the contemporary codes of objects by creating harmonies that appeal to the senses, surpassing the concept of shape.
Driven by traditional craftmanship, Japanese culture, and biomimicry forms and function, his clientele today is international: from world renown Swiss watch brands to furniture manufacturers, editors and private clients. His works are regularly featured during exhibitions and charity events in France and abroad, have been awarded or belong to permanent collections.
He has been a member of the Design Society and the Society of British Interior Designers since 2019.
Né dans le sud de la France en 1991, Julien Bonzom a étudié l’histoire de l’art et la fabrication de meubles traditionnels à l’Institut Européen de Formation des Compagnons du Tour de France (IEF CTF) – une école unique dirigée par les meilleurs artisans français. Avant ses 16 ans, il a participé à plusieurs concours prestigieux et a remporté le MAF (Meilleur Apprenti de France). Cela lui a donné l’opportunité de travailler avec plusieurs marques prestigieuses depuis son plus jeune âge. Il perfectionne ses connaissances en fabrication et découvre sa passion pour le design. Il a créé son propre studio en 2014.
Julien est actif dans les domaines du design, de l’horlogerie et du mobilier. Il est créateur d’objets d’art uniques et en édition limitée. Ses créations défient les codes contemporains des objets en créant des harmonies qui font appel aux sens, dépassant le concept de forme.
Animée par l’artisanat traditionnel, la culture japonaise, les formes et fonctions du biomimétisme, sa clientèle est aujourd’hui internationale : des marques horlogères suisses de renommée mondiale aux fabricants de meubles, éditeurs et clients privés. Ses œuvres sont régulièrement présentées lors d’expositions et d’événements caritatifs en France et à l’étranger, ont été primées ou font partie de collections permanentes.
Il est membre de la Design Society et de la Society of British Interior Designers depuis 2019.
